Apple Created iPad “Mini”, Amazon Makes “Elegant” Kindle Fire
When rumor Apple will release a iPad Mini (7 inches) to compete with Kindle Fire, Amazon rumored to be releasing Kindle Fire it with a screen-sized similar like iPad.
As reported by CNET, Amazon will release an updated version of its flagship tablet, Kindle Fire 10 inches, as part of efforts to secure a place in the middle of dominance over the iPad. With a 10-inch screen, Amazon is really going to put the Kindle Fire main rival iPad as it also has the same screen size.
Meanwhile, Digitimes reported, Amazon has asked Foxconn Electronics as an ODM (An original design manufacturer) of tablets to be marketed in the 2012 half.
Previous version of Kindle Fire, sailing 7 inch, manufactured by Quanta Computer, the manufacturer also makes Nook Tablet to Barner & Noble.
Vendors usually appoint an ODM when launching a new product. But as written by Digitimes, they will then seek additional ODM to reduce risk and price negotiations if the new product is getting good response from the market.
Digitimes Research estimates that, in the first quarter of this year, it sold 1.5 million Kindle Fire and 300,000 Nook Tablet.
