Facebook Assert Trademark on Word “Book”
Facebook is currently trying to patent trademark the word “book”. Although not definitely has the patent, Facebook has put the word “book” in the form of rights and responsibilities agreement to the new users who sign up.
If you are one of a new Facebook user, you will find a request for approval to form an agreement to not violate copyright or trademark, including the F logo, the word Facebook, FB, Facem, Poke, Book, and Wall. All of should not be used for commercial purposes without permission from the Facebook.
In fact, until recently Facebook has not officially have a patent the word “book”. In the database list of Patent and Trademark Office United States (U.S.), Facebook does have 73 active trademarks, but the word “book” is not in the list.
