Foursquare will be Left by Founders, Is Really?
Its founder, Naveen Selvadurai, will abandon foursquare, based geo social networking site. However, he did not really leave Foursquare. He will remain on board of directors and an advisor to company, although not based anymore on Foursquare. Selvadurai planning on doing a new thing out Foursquare, but did not explain knew what to do.
“I’m not sure about exact steps of what I would do next, but I would probably do things that I love for, say become entrepreneurs, learn, and build new things,” he wrote in a blog post.
In post, although he admired progress of company just three years old. Concept of location-based social network FourSquare he first introduced at South by Southwest conference in 2009.
Selvadurai Foursquare founded in 2009 in a website format. Foursquare mobile version then comes thanks to a joint venture with Dennis Crowley. In last three years, Foursquare has had 750 thousand registered merchant and its mobile applications have been downloaded 15 million times.
Selvadurai could hardly believe it, now, after testing hundreds of times, these companies have hundreds of talented employees, who helped realize vision and build a better Foursquare.
“I have gone through process from concept to technical products, from finding funding to road show, from recruitment to hire employees. After three years, I felt it was doing all I can do and I chose to move. Dennis and I have been discussing proper time to transition and that at this time. Therefore, this month will be my last month working on Foursquare, “he added in a blog post.
Naveen Selvadurai is a man born in Tamil Nadu, India, who continued his education at King’s College London, England, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute in U.S.
Prior to founding Foursquare, Selvadurai has worked for several technology companies such as Lucent, Sony, Nokia, and Sun Microsystems. Selvaduri voted “World’s New Young Millionaire” by AOL Small Business.
